Permanent tsb Group Holdings plc. (the Company) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Paul McCann as Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective immediately.  Mr. McCann is a former Managing Partner of Grant Thornton and is currently a senior Partner in that firm’s Financial Services Advisory Department.

Paul was Managing Partner of Grant Thornton for six years (2012 – 2017). In his role as a senior Partner in the Firm’s Financial Services Advisory department he exclusively advises banks, financial institutions and asset management companies on risk, regulatory, consulting and advisory engagements. During Paul’s tenure as Managing Partner Grant Thornton’s business grew from to from €40m to €125m annual turnover. In recent years, Paul has taken an active role in Grant Thornton International, including acting as Global Head of Advisory.

Speaking today, Permanent tsb CEO, Eamonn Crowley said; "Paul’s knowledge and understanding of our business will be a huge asset to the Bank and he brings with him a wealth of leadership, commercial and international banking sector experience. I look forward to working with Paul in the weeks and months ahead as we evolve our business and achieve our Ambition of becoming Ireland’s best personal and small business bank."

Permanent tsb signalled plans to appoint an interim CFO earlier this Summer. The bank is continuing with a recruitment process for the role on a permanent basis and will update the market as appropriate.
