More than 150,000 votes cast as permanent tsb names Community Fund Partners for 2021

  • 7-fold increase in votes for Permanent TSB Community Fund beneficiaries compared to last year (150,000 vs 20,000)
  • 6 winning charities to receive approx. €50k each
  • New in-app voting feature drove major increase in voting

Permanent tsb has today named the 6 community groups and charities that have been selected by a nationwide public vote to share in approx. €300,000 from the Permanent TSB Community Fund. The selection process involved a record 150,000 votes from permanent tsb customers and the wider public – over 7 times the 20,000 votes recorded last year.

A key driver of the increased vote was the introduction of in-app voting through the permanent tsb app for the first time, complementing the existing ability to vote through the Bank’s website.

In-app voting accounted for over 100,000 of the 150,000 votes cast.

The vote selected two winners in each of the Bank’s 3 operational regions:

Region Dublin

Women’s Aid

Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)

Region South and East

Solas Cancer Support (South Eastern Cancer Foundation)

Irish Guide Dogs For The Blind

Region North and West

Breast Cancer Ireland

Oranmore Maree Coastal Search Unit

Previous beneficiaries of the permanent tsb Community Fund include the Jack and Jill Foundation; Mallow Search and Rescue; the Arch Club; Mayo Roscommon Hospice; Milford Care Centre and Aoife’s Clown Doctors.

The Community Fund is made up of amounts raised by staff members, which are matched by a contribution from the Bank.
