4 June 2020

We understand that COVID-19 may have had an unexpected impact on your day-to-day life. We want you to know that we’re here to help and support you and will continue to offer essential banking services in our branches nationwide and over the phone through our Contact Centre. However, as we practice social distancing safely, remember that you can carry out a lot of your day-to-day banking online through Open24.ie or via our mobile banking app.

From checking your transactions and paying bills, to transferring money from your account and managing your standing orders, you can bank from the comfort of your home, day or night. Check out our useful guide below for managing your day-to-day banking online today.

Introduction to Online Banking

To get started, simply log on to Open24.ie. You’ll need your Open24 number, your Internet Password and your Personal Access Number. If you’re new to Online Banking and need to register, follow our step-by-step guide here to help you get started.

When you log in you’ll see your homepage, you can manage most of your day-to-day transactions from here. You’ll see a menu of options at the top of the page which allows you to navigate through the website featuring tabs for “My Accounts”, “Payments & Transfers” and more.

The homepage itself features a panel for each of your accounts, for example you may have a Current Account and a separate Savings Account, and both will be displayed. The panel will show key information relating to your account such as your balance. Should you want to take a closer look at any of your accounts, select the one you want to view by clicking on it. This will open your specific “Account Information” page and allow you to view more details such as recent transactions, your IBAN and BIC numbers, statements and more.

The below demo video is a great introduction to Online Banking with lots of helpful tips and information on managing your account online.

Recent Transactions

If you’re looking to drill down into your recent transactions from the homepage, click on the account you’re interested in and you’ll land on the “Account Information” page. If you’re looking for a specific transaction, from here you can click on the “Recent Transactions” tab for more detail. Your most recent transactions will be visible but you can also select to view transactions from the past 1, 3, 6, 9 or 12 month time periods. You will need to confirm your identity when viewing transactions over 90 days by following the instructions on screen and inputting the required digits from your Personal Access Number (PAN) and the verification code sent to your mobile device.  You can also search through your transactions by keyword to find exactly what you are looking for. You’ll have the option to download and save your transactions should you wish to keep a record. You can click on “Pending Transactions” to view anything that hasn’t hit your account yet, for example a pending cheque or Visa Debit payment.

Online Bank Statements

There are two types of bank statements, e-Statements and Postal Statements. E-Statements are exact copies of the paper statements many people are used to receiving, only you view them online through Open24.ie. The benefits of e-Statements are that;

  1. You can download, view and print your e-Statements at any time
  2. You can keep your statements in one secure place
  3. You can help to protect the environment by reducing paper consumption

If you choose to switch to e-Statements, we’ll stop sending you paper versions and instead we’ll store your statements on your Open24 account where you can view and download them whenever you need. Should you wish to register for e-Statements, just follow the instructions below to get setup;

  1. When signed into Open24.ie, select ‘My Accounts’ from the menu at the top of the webpage
  2. Click on the account for which you are looking to register for e-Statements.
  3. Click the 'Statements' tab.
  4. If you have not yet registered for e-Statements it should say that you are registered for postal statements. Click on the option “Switch to e-Statements”, to register for this service.
  5. A message will be send to your registered mobile phone number with a verification code. Input the verification code on the screen and select ‘Register for e-Statements’. You are now registered for e-statements.

Once registered, you can log in to Open24.ie and view your e-Statements from home or wherever you are;

  1. Once logged into Open24.ie, select the account that the statement is to be viewed for.
  2. Select ‘Statements’ in the top column, then select ‘View e-Statements’ in the bottom left column.
  3. You will need to confirm your identity when viewing statements online by following the instructions on screen and inputting the required digits from your PAN and the verification code sent to your registered mobile device.
  4. Once you input the verification code on the screen, select ‘View’. The e-Statement will then generate on a separate tab in your browser. (Please note, your adobe reader must be up to date to download the e-Statement)

Payments and transfers

Paying your bills and transferring money can be quick and easy online, when you know how to get started. Once you’re logged into Open24.ie, click on the “Payments & Transfers” tab at the top of the page. You’ll be presented with several options including;
