Here’s how we’re making banking easier for our customers

At permanent tsb, we understand that now more than ever, support matters. The COVID-19 pandemic is a global and national crisis of unprecedented scale and it is affecting you, our customers, in several ways. With banking remaining as a defined essential service for our communities, our teams are continuing to work to support you in every way that we can. We can’t change what’s going on in the world, but we can try to make your life a little easier when it comes to managing your finances.

Here are just a few ways we’ve been making banking easier for our customers.

More ways to bank

Banking Online

Did you know you can bank online from the comfort of your home, day or night and all in an easy-to -use and secure environment? You can either use our Mobile Banking App, or log onto to bank online. Through Online Banking you can check your transactions, pay your bills, transfer money from your account, manage your payments and much more. Open24 Telephone Banking

Our Open24 Contact Centre remains open, however we would ask for your patience as we are experiencing very high call volumes, which may result in delays speaking to our customer service agents. Our Automated Telephone Service is available 24/7 for many day-to-day banking requests such as Balance and Transaction enquiries, Bill Pay, Funds Transfer and Statement Orders. During this time, we will continue to support our customers and communities by providing essential banking services in all our branches nationwide with Branch Opening Hours from 10am to 3pm, Monday to Friday. We’ve introduced Social Distancing in all our branches with enhanced cleaning and sanitisation. Our branches are operating a priority banking hours for elderly and vulnerable customers between 10.30am - 12pm Monday to Friday.

Contactless Payments

Keeping in line with social distancing guidelines, we believe that Contactless Payments offer our customers a safe and secure way to pay for essential groceries and goods. In order to support our customers and encourage the use of Contactless payments where possible, we have worked to increase the limit of Contactless payments to €50 per transaction when using your permanent tsb Visa Debit or Credit Card. This is available in most shops in Ireland.

Unlimited 10c Cashback with the permanent tsb Explore Account*

If you’re a permanent tsb Explore Account customer then you can avail of 10c cashback every time you pay with your card in-store or online. So as you keep using your card, we’ll keep rewarding you! Usually, you can earn up to €5 per month, however we’ve removed the limit for the months of April and May, and it is now unlimited!

Payment Breaks

We understand that some customers may be dealing with financial difficulties arising from the COVID-19 crisis. We encourage you to contact us as soon as possible and we will endeavour to do all we can to help. If you need to talk to our team about a COVID-19 Mortgage or Term Lending Payment Break, please call us on 1800 855 010 or +353 21 601 3700, from 8.45am to 6pm Monday to Friday, where one of our customer service agents will discuss the options available to you.

Mortgage Payment Break - If you have been financially impacted by COVID-19, we have developed a quick and easy process for you to apply for a COVID-19 Mortgage Payment Break online.

Term Loan Payment Break - If you have been financially impacted by COVID-19 and would like to apply for a COVID-19 Term Loan Payment Break, you can contact one of our customer service agents on 1800 855 010 or +353 21 601 3700, who will bring you through the application process.

Our lines are open from Monday to Friday 9am until 6pm (excluding public holidays).

Applying for banking products online

During this time we understand you may want to avoid coming into our branches if at all possible. However, we also understand that life hasn’t stopped. So, if you need to apply for a loan or Credit Card you can do so online in the comfort of your home.

Here are our banking products that are available online today.

Personal Loan

If you’re a permanent tsb customer, you can apply for a Personal Loan in-app or through the desktop version of Open24 Online Banking, get approval in minutes and get your loan into your account instantly+. Find out more here.

If you’re a permanent tsb customer and need to apply for a Credit Card, you can do so through the permanent tsb app and get a decision online in minutes>. Simply register and download the permanent tsb mobile app, log in and click the Credit Card Application icon today. Find out more here.

+Term Loan Terms and Conditions

Into your account instantly and approval in minutes applies to permanent tsb Current Account salary mandated customers who are approved loans from €1,500 up to €25,000. Customers must apply online or in-app and be registered for Open24 Online Banking. Customers may have to upload their PPSN document (Notice of Tax Credit, Employment Detail Summary (P60) or Statement of Liability (P21)) through the desktop or app. In-app loans need to have downloaded our mobile app. Data charges may be incurred for use of app. Online and in-app loans can only be taken out in your sole name, and can only be drawn down and paid back from a permanent tsb Current Account. Loans greater than €25,000 and up to €75,000 can be applied for online and we will call you back to discuss. Over 18s only. For approval online the minimum loan term is 1 year and the maximum loan term is 5 years.

>Credit Card Terms and Conditions

In-app approval  applies to permanent tsb Current Account salary mandated customers. Customers must apply in-app and be registered for Open24 Online Banking.

To order your Credit Card instantly you may have to upload proof of PPSN ( (Notice of Tax Credit, Employment Detail Summary (P60) or Statement of Liability (P21)) through the app. Your application can only be taken out in your sole name and will be subject to a full credit assessment and affordability assessment. In-app approval is subject to a minimum credit limit of €1000 and a maximum credit limit of €10,000. For Credit Card applications greater than €10,000 you can still apply in-app and one of our team will call you back to discuss your application. Over 18s only.
