Document upload guidelines for PPSN verification for Credit Card/Personal loan applications over the phone or online

Permanent tsb is obliged, under the Credit Reporting Act 2013, to collect and verify your PPSN. Permanent tsb will collect your PPSN for all credit applications of €500 or greater. Please note, we cannot accept your Public Services Card to verify your PPSN.

How do I verify my PPSN?

Term Loan Applications

If you apply for a loan on your desktop, in-app or over the phone, we will ask you to upload your PPSN document by logging into OPEN24.ie on your PC or by logging into the Open24 Mobile App.

Credit Card Applications

If you apply for a credit card in-app or over the phone, we will ask you to upload your PPSN document by logging into Open24 Mobile App.

Important Information for PPSN documents

If we already hold your PPSN on file, you will not be asked to provide it again.

There are only certain documents you can use in order to verify your PPSN. It is possible to verify some documents electronically while other types require one of our team to manually review.

Please ensure that the document you upload is not protected by a password. We cannot accept protected files and this will cause a delay in verifying your information.

Documents which can be used to verify your PPSN electronically

If you upload one of the below documents your PPSN can be verified instantly online.

• Tax Credit Certificate (available from Revenue)
• P21 (Up until 2019, available from Revenue)
• P60 (Up until 2019, provided by your employer

Documents which require manual verification of your PPSN

If you upload one of the below documents your PPSN cannot be verified instantly online. One of our qualified personal lending team will manually verify your PPSN and contact you within 1 working day.

• Employment Detail Summary (P60 from 2020 onwards)
• Statement of Liability (P21 from 2020 onwards)
• Any correspondence from the Department of Social Protection or the Revenue Commissioners addressed to you clearly indicating your PPSN
• Receipt of Social Welfare Payment
• Medical Card / Drug Payment Scheme Card
• Payslip
• P45
• Tax Assessment

If you do not upload your documents we will be in touch with you within 1 working day to explain exactly what is required and how to provide this to us.

Please note, if you are applying for a loan in a branch, please bring any of the documents listed above with you in order to verify your PPSN at your appointment.

• File size - the maximum allowable file size is 5MB
