Our new Webchat Service


The permanent tsb Webchat is a new service available, allowing you to chat to our Customer Support Agents via instant messaging about support you may need with your everyday banking.

How do I access Webchat support? 

Webchat can now be accessed through the permanent tsb, Android and iOS mobile banking app.

  • Simply log in
  • Select the menu icon (three lines) in the top left hand corner of the home screen
  • Select "Help and Information"
  • and then "Support Chat"

Please note: Webchat is not available through desktop, laptop or tablet.

Webchat is available on the permanent tsb mobile app version 9.1 and above. Please see below a list of Device Operating Systems which support this app version. Unfortunately, if you do not have one of the below Device Operating System Versions, you will not be able to access the app and therefore our Webchat Service.

When will the Webchat team be available?

Our Customer Support Agents will be available on Webchat from 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. However our Automated Chatbot service is available 24/7 to assist you with a variety of frequently asked questions.

What services can I get support with on Webchat?

If our Webchat team are unable to assist you, they will be able to advise you of the next best available action to take to get your query resolved.

Please note, our Webchat team can only discuss transactions within the last 90 days. If you need to discuss a transaction that occurred longer than 90 days ago, please call us on 0818 50 2424 or +353 1 212 4101, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm (excluding Bank Holidays) or Saturday to Sunday, 10am-2pm,and a member of our team will support you.

Can I obtain a copy of the conversation that I had over Webchat?

You can request a copy of your conversation from the Customer Support Agent you are speaking with. Please note, this may take up to 40 days to generate and send out to you.

Will I ever be prompted by permanent tsb to start a Webchat?

You will never be prompted by permanent tsb to start a Webchat. Starting a Webchat will be up to you to initiate through the ‘Help and Information’ section of the banking app.

Is the permanent tsb Webchat service secure?

The Webchat service is fully secure using SSL technology.

Can I get advice on permanent tsb products or services on Webchat?

Our Customer Support Agents will not be able to provide advice on the suitability of permanent tsb products or services for you through Webchat.

Is there any information that I should not provide via the Webchat service?

For security purposes, you should never disclose account or card information when using the Webchat service. We will never ask for this information during a Webchat session.

Also, please refrain from sending any abusive, defamatory, dishonest, or inappropriate language during a chat session as we may end your Webchat session should this occur.
