Payment Service Directive Device Enrolment

Device enrolment is a process that links your customer profile to your smart device (mobile or tablet) which will allow you to provide authentication where necessary.

For your security when accessing your payment account(s) online or completing certain online processes and payments we need to verify that it is you.

This will be done by sending a push notification to your registered device. Push notifications are real-time messages that pop up on your device screen advising you to authenticate certain online activity.

 What's new?

We have recently launched an updated version (10.0) of the personal app. When you access the app or the Business 24 Authenticator app for Business customers for the first time, you will be asked to enrol your smart device (mobile or tablet).

Getting started
  • Downloading our app

Download the relevant app to a compatible device from your app store by clicking the links below, alternatively you can search the app stores for the following apps:

You need to be a customer registered for Open24.ie or Business24.ie to access our apps. If you are a customer but you haven’t registered for online banking yet, we can set you up by calling 0818 50 24 24 or +353 1 212 4101, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm & Saturday to Sunday, 10am to 2pm.

  • Updating our personal banking app ()

If you already have our app on the device you would like to link your profile to, you may need to manually update our app to the latest version (10.0) through your app store. If you have enabled auto-updates for our app, this update may happen automatically.

Please note that after a period of time it will be a requirement that all app users use the latest version of our app and complete device enrolment, i.e. the old version of the app will no longer be supported and you will not have access to it. Please update your banking app at your earliest convenience to avoid any future disruptions.

Our personal and business banking apps support the following Operating Systems for both mobile and tablet devices.

Enrolling my device

When you access the latest version of our personal banking app or Business24 Authenticator app for the first time, you will be asked to enrol your smart device (mobile or tablet).

Once you have enrolled and registered your smart device, this will be the only device you can use to log in to your banking app going forward, i.e. you will not be able to access your app on any other phone or tablet. You can of course change your registered device at any time, but it’s important to note this when selecting your smart device.

Download our app and follow the below steps to set-up your app on your preferred device:

  • 1

Log in with your Open24 or Business24 number, internet password and 3 random digits from your 6 digit Personal Access Number (PAN).

  • 2

Register your smart device and confirm by inputting the security code sent via SMS to your device.

  • 3

Set your permissions to allow push notifications for the PTSB or Business24 Authenticator app.

Push notifications

When completing your smart device enrolment, you will be asked to allow push notifications for the PTSB or Business24 Authenticator app. This allows us to send you real time notifications that pop up on your device screen, advising you to authenticate certain online activity.

Please note, push notifications will only be used for authentication purposes and at your request. We will never send you marketing material or similar via push notifications without first asking for your explicit consent.

  • Do I need to allow push notifications for the PTSB/Business24 Authenticator app?

  • I did not enable push notifications or I was not asked to enable push notifications?

Android:
