What is Emergency Cash?

If you or someone you know are stranded without an ATM card, you can get Emergency Cash. 

1. Use our app or visit Open24.ie.
2. We’ll text you a unique, once-off ATM code.
3. Withdraw €100, €50 or €20 from any PTSB ATM within 2 hours.

There is a charge of €2 for every Emergency Cash transaction which is withdrawn from the ATM, therefore you will need to have at least that fee available as well as the amount you chose.

You can choose the amount that you want to send. You can choose either €20, €50 or €100, but don’t forget that there is a fee of €2 for every Emergency Cash transaction which is withdrawn from the ATM. There is no fee if the funds are not withdrawn.

How to get Emergency Cash

You can set up your Emergency Cash either online or using our app .

Please note: You can use Emergency Cash once per day, up to twice in any 31 days.

In our app or via our mobile optimised website

1. Log in to Open24 Online Banking on the app or mobile website (open24.ie).
2. Select the 'Emergency Cash' option on the menu.
3. Provide the mobile number and the mobile provider for whoever you want to send the money to.
4. Confirm the amount and the account you want to pay from and you are done!

Online

You can now choose the amount that you want to send on Open24.ie. You can choose either €20, €50 or €100, but don’t forget that there is a fee of €2 for every Emergency Cash transaction which is withdrawn from the ATM. There is no fee if the funds are not withdrawn.

1. Log in to Open24 Online Banking.
2. Select Mobile Banking from the main menu and then Emergency Cash link on the left hand side of the screen
3. Choose 'Send Emergency Cash' and 'Continue'.
4. Confirm your mobile number and service provider (or the number and service provider of the person to receive the Emergency Cash).
5. We’ll give you your Emergency Cash details.
6. Confirm your request and you’re good to go!
