Daniel Wiffen is the current world record holder for 800m freestyle (short course) and European record holder for 800m freestyle long-course. He is also fifth on the global all-time list for the 1,500m freestyle.
Daniel competed in his first Olympics at the age of 20 across the 800m and 1,500m, finishing inside the top 20 in both events. He claimed a gold and two silvers at the European U-23 Championships last year and heads into the Paris Games as a genuine medal contender for Team Ireland.
