Jeremy Masding, Group Chief Executive of permanent tsb Group Holdings plc has announced the appointment of Mark Coan as Group Commercial Director.
The role of Group Commercial Director is a newly created ExCo (Executive Committee) level position which will have responsibility for the management and development of the Group’s commercial agenda including responsibility for product development, brand and marketing activities across both traditional and digital channels.
Mark Coan brings enormous commercial experience to the new role. He has worked for most of the last decade with Virgin Media in Ireland (formerly UPC/NTL) where since 2011 he was Vice President, Consumer and oversaw the highly successful transition to the Virgin Media brand through 2015. He had previously worked in NTL / UPC in various commercially focused roles including Product Development, Sales & Marketing, and Digital.
Welcoming Mark’s appointment, Jeremy Masding said that the move reflected the increased focus on the bank’s commercial agenda which has been signalled at the recent results presentations;
“In July we announced the Group’s historic first return to profitability since the financial crash. As we said then, having secured the financial viability of the Group, the challenge now is to reinvigorate our commercial offering to ensure that we lay the foundations for sustainable profitability and growth long into the future. We believe that Mark is the right candidate to lead that process across both our traditional and digital channels and we are delighted that he is joining us.”
