Yes, a contactless Visa Debit Card is available on this account.

Is there a chequebook available on this account?

Yes, a chequebook is available on the Explore Account – it is not automatic and must be ordered via Open24 or any permanent tsb ATM. Government Stamp duty of €20 will be deducted from your account upon ordering a cheque book.

What statements are available for the Explore Account?

There are only eStatements available with the Explore Account.

How long are eStatements available to view on Open24?

Statements will remain available on Open24 for a period of fifteen months.

What if I do not want eStatements?

Paper statements are viewed as a duplicate statement and have a charge of €2.50 per page.

If I have an existing permanent tsb Current Account can I open an Explore Account?

Yes, you can open a new Explore Account by making an appointment at a branch or by calling Open24. If you have an existing Current Account with permanent tsb our branch advisors will be able to discuss this further with you.

A: Yes, GoREWARDS is available to all of our personal Current Account customers with a Visa Debit Card over the age of 16.

Account Fees and Charges

What fees are on the account?

There is a €4 maintenance fee charge applied on the first working day of each month. There are no ‘day to day’ transaction fees for using your Visa Debit Card or Direct Debits and Standing Orders. There may be other charges for things like Government Stamp Duty on your bank card, unpaid items or if you use an ATM outside the Eurozone. What’s included in ‘no day to day transactions’?

The following transactions would be included under no transaction fees

  • Standing Order and Bill payment set ups & transactions
  • Direct Debit set ups & transactions
  • Open24 telephone & internet transactions
  • Direct Credits
  • ATM – Euro withdrawals within the EU
  • Debit – Debit card transactions within the eurozone
  • eStatements (excluding duplicates)
  • Counter lodgements and withdrawals
  • Cheque and paper debits
  • Credit transfers incoming (paper items)

ATM transaction charges will apply on Euro withdrawals outside the EU and on all non Euro withdrawals at 3.5% of the Euro value of the transaction (min. €3.17 & max. €11.43). Debit Card transaction charges will apply on all debit transactions outside the eurozone at 1.75% of the Euro value of the transaction (min. €0.46 and max €11.43).

How do I sign up for the account benefits?

10c back as you pay is automatic and once you activate your Visa Debit Card you will avail of this feature capped at €5 per month.

Cashback on bills is automatic on your account as long as you pay a bill by direct debit with one of our direct debit partners. Whether you’re a new customer, or already have an account with our partners you can avail of this exclusive deal when you pay by direct debit from your Explore Account.

Where does my cashback go?

10c back as you pay – cashback can be lodged to the Explore Account on the first working day of each month. Alternatively you can nominate another account in Open24 or at your local branch.

Cashback on bills - cashback can be lodged to the Explore Account on the first working day of each month. Alternatively you can nominate another account in Open24 or at your local branch.

* Topaz will be discounted at point of sale and the direct debit will be taken from your Explore Account

GoREWARDS cashback can only be lodged back into the account to which your Visa Debit Card is linked to, unlike the other two benefits cashback is credited within 5 working days of making a qualifying transaction.

Where can I view cashback earned?

There will be a My Rewards tab within your Open24 where you can view cashback earned as well as cashback due. You will be able to review the GoREWARDS offers you redeemed to date on the GoREWARDS website under ‘Redemption History’.

With 10c back as you pay is there a limit on what I can earn each month?

Do I earn 10c back each time I use the ATM?

No, 10c back as you pay is limited to point of sale , contactless and online transactions. ATM or Branch withdrawals do not apply.

Will the 10c be taken off my total transaction price at the point of purchase?

No, when making a transaction you will still pay the full amount. You will receive the cashback on the first working day of each month.

Is there a limit on what I can earn from cashback on bills?

Each direct debit partner is offering a certain percentage. This is not capped; you will receive the qualifying percentage off your full direct debit paid.

Will the percentage off my total Direct Debit be taken when my Direct Debit is due?

No, your Direct Debit will bill for the full amount and you will receive your cashback on the first working day of each month.

Topaz works differently - your 2c discount is taken at point of sale with your Topaz fuelcard and you will receive a direct debit for the total amount minus your discount.

Where do I get my Topaz fuelcard?

Once you open your account you will receive a unique code to register for your Topaz fuelcard. Once you register, your fuelcard will be posted to you.
